Controller to work with non profit team within Marin. Responsibilities include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Key responsibilities - Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation - Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties - Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis - Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed - Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team - Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis - Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports - Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks - Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired - Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired - Prior work done in public accounting is desired - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - Consolidations experience - Month end closings experience - Budget forecasting experience - Business analysis experience - Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
