Qualifications: 



  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 2-5 years’ experience in business development, financial services or underwriting

  2. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills – comfort and command over the phone a core skill

  3. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook), and experience with Salesforce CRM a plus

  4. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced start-up, team environment

  5. Exceptional attention to detail, organization and time management skills required

  6. Demonstrated interest in the mission and values of CleanFund

  7. CleanFund is based in Sausalito and candidate must have a tolerable commute


Job Responsibilities: 



  1. Conduct outbound calls, field inbound calls, effectively qualifying deals and appropriately following-up

    1. Identify prospective deals and engage appropriate contacts from CleanFund’s CleanQuote and warm sales opportunities provided by Sales team. 

    2. Identify prospective deals and engage  appropriate contacts from contacts through market research, cultivating relationships and smoothly transitioning them to the appropriate salesperson.


  2. Provide initial dialogue and first level financing qualifications to gain client interest in PACE financing.

  3. Facilitate deal progression, mapping the steps and documents required to progress a prospect from initial contact thru close with the BDR and or Originator.   

  4. Provide pricing guidance on transactions by analyzing certain aspects of the project, working between the needs of the prospective client and originations team.

  5. Work closely with and support the Revenue, Originations and Marketing teams.

Located on the Sausalito waterfront, our team is comprised of collaborative, solutions-oriented, industry leaders in energy efficiency, commercial real estate and structured finance, and we’re looking for a resourceful and results-driven individual to join in a dynamic role supporting the Revenue and Originations teams.  This position will provide the right candidate a ground floor opportunity to continue driving growth for the Company and will have a measurable impact on CleanFund’s business. 


The Business Development Associate will support the Revenue and Originations teams generating qualified sales leads.   Lead generation responsibilities include generating leads through outbound efforts, following up on inbound leads generated predominately through the Company’s proprietary pricing engine, CleanQuote.    Analyzing prospective deals from initial outreach to customer capturing relevant details on the prospect and ultimately migrating the prospect to a BD representative or originations team member.   A background and experience in some combination of sales, financial services, commercial real estate, renewable energy or energy efficiency is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
