Founded in 1995, Bridge the Gap College Prep (BTGCP) is a
community-based non-profit organization with a powerful mission to
change the lives of vulnerable children through education in Marin
City, California. Its success has stemmed from its passionate
faculty and volunteers who help students achieve their dreams of
going to the college of their choice.
The Executive Director for BTGCP is responsible for creating a
vision for the organization's future and overseeing its strategic
direction, operations, financial management, and administration.
The Executive Director is expected to build and maintain strong
working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff,
volunteers, community leaders, allied organizations and partners,
and donors. This position will further manage important
partnerships with neighboring schools and districts, and other
nonprofit organizations.
The Executive Director has the ultimate responsibility for
effective fundraising and advocacy on behalf of the organization.
This position will be instrumental in the ongoing cultivation and
relationship building with current and future donors and
stakeholders.
The ED is responsible for representing the organization across a
broad spectrum of public activities within Marin City and beyond.
Collaborating with faculty and staff, the ED will create strategic,
educational programs to provide the most opportunities for the
BTGCP's dedicated students.
Bridge the Gap College Prep is searching for a candidate that is
passionate about the mission of the organization and can work
quickly to attract new sources of funding by creating a strong
brand and profile. The new ED must be a thought leader, one that
will build upon the organization's already strong reputation by
gaining attraction from the community leaders and capitalize on
existing partnerships.
The ideal candidate is someone who is compassionate and willing to
advocate for children and their right to an education and strong
future. The Executive Director must communicate intelligently, but
also be able to actively listen in order to collaborate with
colleagues and establish meaningful partnerships. The ideal
candidate is willing to create bonds with not just the students,
but their families as well.
