Summary:
Assists the Director of Engineering, in completing all tasks associated with the Engineering needs of Cavallo Point.
The Engineering Mission of Cavallo Point is to provide, reliable engineering services to the operational departments, maintain the structures and infrastructure of the entire leasehold- including physical elements such as landscaping, and ensure fully functioning and operational guestroom and public space services.
The primary responsibility of the Assistant, is developing, implementing and supervising ongoing work of the department that accomplishes these ends.
This includes personnel administration, financial resource management, scheduling, co-ordination of outside support sources, ongoing evaluations of needs and problems, and direct involvement in repair, restoration and maintenance work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supervise Engineering Staff of six Engineers of various and abilities and skill sets.
Develop, post and ensure staff are available to fulfill a fourteen shift work schedule Work within the budgetary restraints of the department- accomplishing the mission at targeted costs.
In absence of Director of Engineering, perform duties typically performed by the Director and these essential Job Duties Implement a long term and a prompt or timely maintenance, preservation and restoration program that protects the assets, maintains product standards at the expected level of quality, reliability and safety.
Face guests in difficult situations, meeting their needs and ensuring 100% satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
Participate on an occasional basis to perform duties not normally associated with Engineering- that assist Cavallo Point in accomplishing overall goals Participate in the development of a safe work place- outside of the Engineering Department.
Coaching, development and discipline of staff as may benefit the Department, Cavallo Point and the individual.
Maintain Stores, Tooling, Safety Equipment, and Supplies for the Engineering Department that are general in nature.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
Mastery of a trade associated with building maintenance, repair, or renovation Completion of an recognized educational or apprentice program related to a building trade that includes a field work element Supervision responsibilities over an aggregate five year period for a crew of at least six tradespersons.
Able to work on ladders & scaffolding at various heights a, operate all hand and construction power tools.
Work with both hands, while standing for 1 hour periods Respond to emergency conditions involving safety, continuous operation of the property and emergency guest needs Track labor costs, develop and post a weekly schedule, that meets operational needs Take, interpret and implement operational data and readings from the 'Engineering Plant Read, analyze and perform technical tasks identified by manufactures written instructions, plans and similar documentation Train staff on procedures and techniques of building maintenance, preservation and repair.
Possess a valid California Drivers License.
Must have a High School diploma Ability to speak Spanish is preferable Recommended Skills Coaching And Mentoring Construction Maintenance Manufacturing Medical Emergency Personal Protective Equipment Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
